Now, I am no ordinary magician, I can't pull a rabbit out of a hat, but I can pull a hair out of your, well, you get the picture!

Some time ago, I was lucky enough to hear about a ride from Perth to Wentworth, raising funds for the Black Dog Institute, and the ride being branded as the “Cycle for Hope”. This ride immediately appealed to me, as you could imagine, it was going to be a bloody long ride, and it was about raising money for, and the profile of, mental health. Sadly, being this time of year, (yay for working in the finance section of Local Government, where this time of year is dedicated to preparing the annual finacial statements), I could not join them for the whole ride, but will instead be heading out next weekend to join them at Pt Augusta.

I will be accompanied by a couple of awesome friends and exceptional riders, being Sarah Buck and Robert “Chewbacca/Chewy” Rau. We are hoping to have the use of a Skoda vehicle to get us out to Port Augusta, and are planning at the moment to ride out from Port Augusta to meet them, and ride back in with them. Well, that is the plan at the moment, but we are flexible, so this could change!!!

The guys have done an amazing job putting this ride together, and have got some awesome Corporate sponsors, but as with any charity event, would always welcome more! If you would like to help, you can get in touch with me, or you can get in touch with the team via their Facebook Page.

I managed to source them some Chamois Butt’r from Ride Easy Sports and the amazingly helpful Denise Balding. Here’s hoping the boys are all dunking their gunk in the junk, and feeling the soothing benefits that Chamois Butt’r has to offer. They also had some complications with a sports drink supplier, so Sukkie Hydration came to the rescue, and hopefully packaged off some of their marvellous product to Norseman for the boys!

So the three of us Adelaide riders are very keen to hit the road, and do our part by riding with these legends in lycra!
