Who wants a new bike for Christmas?

Well we held our first Cycling Santa Ride last year, and it was a roaring success, with a great number of cyclists turning out, many decked out resplendently in their Yuletide finest, in some pretty dismal conditions. Thanks to some amazing support from several communities, we were also able to take lots of awesome presents in to Catherine House, to help make Christmas for some of the less fortunate in Adelaide’s community.

But it’s time to share the love, and throw some Christmas cheer in another direction, so this year the Cycling Santa’s will be supporting the Womens & Childrens Hospital. Now understandably, it being only May, the details are extremely sketchy, a bit like my blogging skills! But I was asked after last year’s ride, to start working on the 2011 ride earlier, so people would have plenty of time to gather some gifts! Awesome sauce! Will this be enough lead up time?

The chosen date is Sunday, 11 December, so pencil it in your diaries now! With a start time of 9:00am, we will once more endeavour to ride to the Coast from the City, if the weather gods decide to play fair this year! So starting from Victoria Square, we will head down Anzac Highway to the Bay, where coffee in the Square will be enjoyed, possibly ride to Henley if people are feeling energetic, then back to the WCH for a picnic in the park adjacent!

I hope this sounds like fun, as last years was, even with the miserable conditions, we were fortunate enough to have BJ leading us on a merry adventure around and through the City of Adelaide, seeing places and things that I really do not quite understand still how he finds out about?

I will add more details as they happen, and will also book in the date on Adelaide Cyclists!

Keep the rubber side down,
